   Wedding Photography

Hire a photographer who specializes in weddings. They should be familiar with your ceremony and reception sites, which will allow them to anticipate your next move and capture it on camera. You should be comfortable with your photographer, which will undoubtedly reflect on the pictures.

Wedding Idea: In order to avoid complaints from some relatives and especially friends that they didn’t get to be photographed with you after the ceremony make a list of the people (family and friends) you want your photographer to take pictures with you. This will ensure that all those people get photographed.

Wedding Idea: If you do decide to hire professional photographer(s) you may want to ask in advance if he/she will be using only regular film or the digital camera. Digital cameras are becoming more and more popular of late, although many photographers will argue that film is still better.

Wedding Idea: In case your photographer uses film, make sure you clarify in advance that you would like to get the negatives. Some of them choose not to do that and instead charge you for the reprints in the future.

Wedding Idea: If your photographer uses digital camera, make sure he posts the photos on the web. That way your friends and relatives will be able to pick and order pictures that they like.

Wedding Idea: Some photographers (especially in Hawaii) specialize in both – wedding planning and taking pictures. Consider hiring of them – it could save you money. Also, as mentioned earlier, you may use them as ‘consultants’ rather than planners and end up spending significantly less.

Wedding Idea: As a money-saving alternative, forego the professional photographer during the reception because friends and family can take candid pictures instead. Leave disposable cameras on the reception tables for guests to use and ask them to return to you at the end of the event. You can get really good deals on disposable cameras for weddings on eBay:
